Know a RUSA member who has achieved great things in bibliography, book reviewing, indexing, professional association leadership and/or programs and training? Consider nominating that member for the 2010 Genealogical Publishing Company/History Section Award.
Established in 1992 and sponsored by Genealogical Publishing Company, this award presents a citation and $1,500 cash to a librarian, library or publisher who is a RUSA member, and recognizes their exceptional contributions and professional achievement in historical reference and research librarianship.
Nominations should be submitted to award committee chairperson Mary Mannix via e-mail. Nomination materials should include the following:
–Complete contact information for both the nominee and the nominator
–Nominee’s current title and employer name
–Previous work experience (titles and employers)
–An outline of service to ALA, RUSA and the History Section
–Service to allied organizations
–Awards received
–Publication credits
–Any other information relevant to the nominee’s qualifications for this award
Nominated individuals who do not receive the award will automatically be reconsidered for the following year’s nomination process.
