RUSA is seeking nominations for the 2010 Louis Shores/ABC-CLIO Award.
The award is presented to a librarian, individual, group, editor, review medium or organization for their extraordinary contribution to the book/media reviewing process that helps librarians make selections. It is named in honor of Louis Shores, Ph.D. (1904-1981), former dean of the library schools at both George Peabody College for Teachers (Nashville, Tenn.) and Florida State University and pioneer of courses in audio-visual materials.
The winner receives a citation and a $3,000 cash prize sponsored by ABC-CLIO and will be honored at the RUSA Awards Ceremony on the Monday of the ALA Annual Conference, next scheduled for June 24-29, 2010 in Washington, D.C.
Those interested in submitting a nomination can download the award nomination form from the awards section of the RUSA website or request the form from Liz Markel, RUSA Marketing Specialist, or from Edward Kownslar, chairperson for the award committee. All nominations must be received by Dec. 15.
