“Health Information 101” prepares librarians to assist their patrons with access to reliable health information resources.

Did you know that having librarians on staff who are savvy about health information websites, the business of healthcare and medical terminology can provide a great service to their library users?

Some of the key skills you’ll acquire are the ability to:

  • Construct an information search using medical terminology
  • Formulate a search strategy in PubMed
  • Adopt health reference interview techniques
  • Recommend consumer health resources based on patron literacy levels

  • Apply the Ten Question Consumer Health Website Evaluation Checklist
  • Describe healthcare reforms
